KHS Expands Involvement in India

KHS Participation in Indian joint venture increased to 89 percent. 

"By increasing our share of holdings in KHS Machinery, we are implementing our strategy of expanding our business activities in high-growth markets. This greater share and the additional production capacity of the plant, enable us to enjoy a unique situation in the Indian market and additionally put us in an excellent position to meet increases in demand in Asian markets in the future."

KHS Maschinen- und Anlagenbau AG has increased its stake in the Indian joint venture from 60 to 89 percent. The shares were given up by the Indian Mamata Group, with whom KHS has been operating the Indo-German joint venture company KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. since 1997. The management of KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. will remain in place. Mahendra N. Patel, Chairman of the Mamata Group and Managing Director of KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd., and Yatindra R. Sharma, Managing Director of KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd., will continue to lead the company into a successful future.

By increasing its participation, KHS once again stresses not only its increased international orientation but also its great involvement in high-growth markets. KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. is the leader in the Indian market in the field of filling and packaging technology for the beverage sector. Cornerstone ceremonies were just recently held for a new plant. These new facilities will not only again decidedly increase the production capacity of KHS Machinery Pvt. Ltd. but also take the growth potential in India into account and meet the increasing demand for modern filling and packing equipment in Asian markets.

Apart from the production plant in India, KHS also maintains production sites abroad in the U.S.A., Mexico, and Brazil. As a global-acting company, KHS also has more than sixty sales and service bases on all continents and thus practices its philosophy of maximum customer orientation. The KHS Group today realizes seventy-five percent of its total sales outside Germany.
