KHS
Group integrates Kisters - Packaging Machines Industry
Leader
The combined
activities of KHS AG and Kisters Maschinenbau GmbH
are to be legally consolidated under the management of
KHS. For this purpose, Klöckner-Werke AG intends to
transfer its controlling interest in Kisters
Maschinenbau GmbH to KHS AG effective 1 January 2003.
The products from KHS
and Kisters make a perfect team. KHS Maschinen- und
Anlagenbau AG, Dortmund is very well known in the
beverage trade as leading international manufacturer of
filling and packaging systems. The KHS Group, managed
centrally from Dortmund, and its 2,600 employees realize
today worldwide sales totaling Euro 550 million.
Kisters has made a
name for itself in the beverage industry as well as
in the food sector as a producer of ultra-modern
wrap-around packaging systems, tray packers and shrink
packers. As the sales and technology leader of the
international shrink-wrapper packer market, Kisters and its
600 employees realize sales totaling Euro 100 million.
In the future, KHS
and Kisters will be jointly involved in both
international marketing as well as product development
activities. Development of a combined strategy for
further cooperative expansion of activities is currently
in progress. Kisters belongs to the KHS major
shareholder company since long, but the two company´s
operations and technical developments had in the past
not been linked very closely together. With the
integration completed the companies will now focus their
attitudes together to become the leading supplier for
all major beverage and packaging industry needs.
Together with Kisters,
KHS is taking a decisive step towards becoming a
complete supplier of filling and packaging technology
for the entire food and non-food trade worldwide.
With this integration
KHS has now - after the integration of KHS Till GmbH
(KEG Lines) in Kriftel and KHS Anker GmbH (Labelling
Machines) in Hamburg, both Germany as well, nearly completed it´s range of machines,
complete bottling and packaging lines as well as other
equipment for the packaging, beverage and food industry
as major single-source supplier.
