Pepsi and United Airlines join Arrangement

Multiyear Partnership Makes Pepsi and Diet Pepsi
Colas of Choice on All United Flights Worldwide

United Airlines today announced a new, multiyear partnership with Pepsi-Cola Company, making Pepsi and Diet Pepsi the colas of choice served on all of its domestic and international flights.

Effective May 1, 2002 , United and Pepsi will enter a new arrangement which includes global pouring rights and a marketing alliance through which the two companies will develop joint promotional programs.

"The Pepsi-Cola Company has been a major corporate customer of United’s for many years and this agreement will allow us to further strengthen our business relationship," said Larry De Shon, Senior Vice President-Onboard Service for United Airlines. "We are delighted to partner with one of the world’s largest beverage companies and offer our customers these popular soft drink selections."

By May 16, 2002, Pepsi and Diet Pepsi will replace Coca-Cola onboard all of United’s flights.
